James B. Ayres Awarded One of UT's Highest Honors

The Presidential Citation was created in 1979 to recognize the extraordinary contributions of individuals who personify the University's commitment to the task of transforming lives. The University does not award honorary degrees, and these citations are designed to salute those whose service exemplifies the values shared by The University of Texas at Austin community. The Presidential Citation honors those who have brought great distinction to the University and helped the institution to achieve its mission.
Dr. Ayres's name and the year of the award will be added to a plaque mounted in the Main Building. An Endowed Presidential Scholarship will be awarded in Dr. Ayres's name for the year following the award.
